Normally, forum members will either discuss one specific topic or have a common thread among all of the members. There are Forums for every topic you can think of and then some.

Forums allow people to really connect with one another across the world using the Internet. Messages posted to a forum will be viewable by all forum members.

Reading a forum’s archives can be a good way to obtain a basic knowledge about a topic, and it also provides a historical record on trends and opinions.

Forums are supported by many different software platforms like phpbb and SMF and are very user friendly. For a lot of Internet newbies, forums are their first entry into using the Internet. Some of the other common terms for forums are web forums, discussion forums, bulletin boards, message boards, discussion boards and discussion groups.

It is very important to read the terms and conditions of each particular forum you visit for a basic guideline as to what is acceptable to post. Failure to do so can have negative consequences, including tarnishing your site’s reputation, your reputation and getting permanently banned from the community.
